T3 Alaska Launches T3 Chugach-Yukon Future Initiative
FAIRBANKS, AK — The University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Teaching Through Technology (T3) Alaska program is proud to announce a transformative partnership with the Lower Yukon School District (LYSD) and Chugach School District (CSD). Together, they are launching the T3 Chugach-Yukon FUTURES Initiative, a project designed to provide high-quality STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) education to all LYSD and CSD students over the next five years.
Bringing Innovation to the Classrooms
This initiative will integrate T3’s framework into LYSD and CSD schools, plus establish six fully operational makerspaces. The new T3 sites will offer year-round, scaffolded programming in STEM subjects, led by new local T3 Coaches.
Summer Intensives and College Pathways
A central pillar of the partnership is the establishment of a flagship T3 Hub at the Kusilvak Career Academy (KCA).
T3 Alaska will host multiple annual two-week summer programs. These opportunities provide:
- Advanced Learning: Specialized STEM activities for students.
- Workforce Readiness: Hands-on training in leadership, critical thinking, and communication.
- College Credit: Opportunities for students to earn UA credit through immersive projects.
A Model for Success
“T3 is excited to support students in the Lower Yukon and Chugach School Districts,” said Adam Low, T3 Alaska Director. “By creating safe, supportive learning environments, students are empowered to explore technology and take on meaningful projects with a growth mindset. Through this work, they build the skills, confidence, and leadership needed to make a positive impact in their communities.”
The T3 Chugach-Yukon FUTURES Initiative is an investment in the next generation of leaders, scientists, and innovators who will shape the future of their communities and the state of Alaska.
