needed to lead successful T3 programs.

Coach Professional Learning

T3 Alaska supports coaches through year-round professional learning designed to build confidence, technical skills, and successful local programs. Whether a coach is new to T3 or expanding an established club, professional learning is tailored to meet the needs of both educators and their students.

Coaches receive support through university professional development courses, Innovation Club technology workshops, regular coach meetings, and on-site visits from T3 Alaska staff. Together, these opportunities provide hands-on technical training, instructional resources, program support, and personalized coaching that can be immediately applied in local T3 programs.

University Professional Development

T3 Alaska offers university professional development courses that introduce educators to the T3 learning model while building the knowledge and skills needed to lead a successful local program.

The course sequence begins with F594A: T3 Coach Onboarding, which covers the foundations of T3 Culture, Growth Mindset, Design Thinking, and the practical aspects of launching and managing a T3 site. F594B: Facilitating a T3 Site builds on these concepts by helping coaches develop meaningful community partnerships and create authentic, community-connected learning experiences for students.

On-Site Coaching

T3 Alaska staff visit local sites to provide personalized coaching and technical assistance. Site visits may include classroom instruction, technology training, planning sessions with coaches, community partner meetings, and student workshops. These visits strengthen local programs while giving coaches and students opportunities to learn alongside experienced T3 staff.

Innovation Club

The T3 Alaska Innovation Club is a statewide technology training series for T3 Coaches. Throughout the school year, coaches participate in hands-on virtual workshops that introduce a specific technology, tool, or technical skill they can incorporate into their local T3 program.

Each session provides practical, “how-to” instruction led by T3 Alaska staff or guest experts. Coaches learn by building, creating, and experimenting with new technologies while gaining the knowledge and resources needed to confidently bring those experiences back to their students.

Innovation Club topics vary throughout the year and may include digital fabrication, drones, programming, digital storytelling, electronics, mapping technologies, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies.
