Students Become Mentors: T3 Alaska Youth Lead Tech Learning

Three students, Kalista Douglas, Blaze Lie, and Delany Long who attended the T3 Alaska Energy Leadership & Digital Storytelling Summer Program were hired to teach fellow Kusilvak Career Academy (KCA) students about T3 Alaska programming until the end of summer session. Their lessons included Raspberry Pi computing and sensor technology, environmental monitoring, drone operations, and makerspace tools.

This opportunity was made possible through the strong partnership between T3 Alaska and Lower Yukon School district in which KCA resides—and is a testament to the students’ talent, dedication, and the leadership they demonstrated during the summer program.

We’re incredibly proud of these students, who have expressed interest in attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks after graduation. Their experience was shaped and inspired by T3 Alaska alumni—members of the CyberPod—who returned as college mentors and help guide the next generation of learners.
