Maritime Field Week – Student Career Excursion
Students who have attended a Maritime STEAM Fest spring 2025 are invited to sign up for Introduction to Maritime Trades course and come on a week-long trip to Anchorage and Seward to further pursue careers in the maritime industry.
T3 Alaska’s Maritime Intensive is an action-packed adventure into the world of maritime careers! Qualified students will travel to Seward and tour AVTEC, meet maritime professionals, and complete the Alaska Boating Safety Program, Alaska Water Wise. In Anchorage time will be spent acquiring essential certifications to jumpstart a career in the field.
Participants will earn key credentials like the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), Food Handler’s Card, and Medical Certificate—all steps toward a Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC). Plus, they’ll sharpen their teamwork, leadership, and money management skills while connecting with maritime pros.
By the end of the program, students will have completed certification applications, a personalized mentorship plan, and a clear path to careers and training opportunities in Alaska’s maritime sector—especially with Alaska Marine Highway System!
NOTE: Participants will need to schedule an appointment with their physician and obtain a physical to complete their MMC application.
Registration closes April 15. Apply here.
