Introduction to Maritime Trades Course Offered

T3 Alaska high school students who have attended a maritime STEAM Fest are now eligible to enroll in an online, two-credit course offered through the Prince William Sound College.

The Introduction to Maritime Trades provides students with an in-depth look at the exciting and lucrative maritime industry, equipping them with essential skills for success and safety as a future mariner. Students will explore career pathways, maritime positions, learn nautical terms and radio communication, as well as work toward obtaining their Boaters Safety Card, get a TWIC card, and Merchant Mariners Credential.

This three-week course will conclude with a four-day experiential learning weekend in Anchorage, where students will engage in hands-on activities, meet industry professionals, and gain real-world experience in maritime operations.

Course registration opens late March 2025. Prerequisite: Maritime STEAM Fest attendance.
