“3 Weeks of T3” Series in Galena

  • News

T3 Alaska Coaches Emily Lester and Will Kramer, along with community members turned up the energy with the “3 Weeks of T3” series, bringing hands-on fun and tech projects to Galena! These weekly events weren’t just about learning—they were about creating, tinkering, and discovering cool new skills while building a group of regular attendees ready to dive into all things T3.

What did that look like?

  • Week 1: Tinkercad & 3D Printing
The event kicked off exploring Tinkercad, a web-based user-friendly platform, to create their own 3D designs. From their first click to their finished creations, it was all about turning imagination into reality!
  • Week 2: Circuit & Soldering Sparks
Next up, things got busy with a circuit board and soldering project. The students built sound effect boards that lit up and made noise when tapped or exposed to light. The moment their projects buzzed to life? Pure excitement.
  • Week 3: Choose Your Own Tech Adventure
For the final day, students got to pick their direction—finishing up their circuit boards or diving deeper into Tinkercad.  Everyone was happy to take home their accomplishments.

Parents even joined the fun, working alongside their kids and learning with them. Please give a big shoutout to a generous community member who shared their personal 3D printer to make the event happen!

Leadership was excited to shared plans for a makerspace location ready for development. Students were introduced to makerspace technology during the 3 Weeks T3 event and are excited to have a dedicated space. Everyone is looking forward to seeing it packed with students and equipment in the spring semester!
