The UAF Upward Bound and T3 Alaska project is accepting applications from new and existing qualified students for the summer program, which is offered at no cost.

Students will rank their session preferences. Based on application answers and program participation, students will be assigned to a session where they will be most successful.

Daily UAF Troth Yeddha’ Campus | Remote Online

North Pole or Fairbanks regional students can join the “Drafting Dreams: High School Summer Writing Academy” in-person at UAF’s Troth Yeddha’ Campus in Fairbanks for North Pole High School students, or rural villages may attend remotely online. This summer program focuses on preparing students for college and careers in the humanities through engaging writing instruction. Led by Mary McFetridge, MFA, an honored North Pole High School teacher, participants will explore crafting compelling narratives, mastering composition structures, and adapting writing strategies to suit different audiences and disciplines. The academy offers intensive one-on-one instruction, formative feedback, and support, while also emphasizing critical reading and reasoning skills to elevate students’ writing abilities.

Earn 3 college credits!

In person enrollment is open to any North Pole Alaska UB qualifying high school or T3 Alaska student. Remote online enrollment is open to any statewide UB qualifying high school or T3 Alaska students. The entire experience is free, including regional travel to and from campus.
